Write poetry, I read and I love music and I love doing crafts! I make most of my accessories

What is a day in the life of "Raven Morbidicity" Like?
wow, I dont really know how to explain it, but when I am posing for my photos, it is the most amazing feeling. it can be exhausting though, and the time flew by when I did my first three photoshoots. The makeup and hair usually takes me up to an hour, and fifteen for my accessories. So a day in my life is fun, but very busy. :)

What type of music do you listen to?
all kinds, but I am not a huge country  music fan. I like horrorbilly/rockabilly.  The Creepshow is awesome, so are the Horror Pops. I listen to Zombina and the Skeletones when I clean house cause it gets me motivated, and I listen to Kerli when I need to be inspired! I also enjoy Celtic music.

What are the 5 things you can’t live without?
My laptop, my phone, crafting supplies , my journal and my art supplies. I know I seem shallow, but I have become so accustomed to using these things that they are difficult to live without.

Do you have any unusual talents?
I love to write. And i love to do hair and craft, I consider the things I like to craft or poetry I write to be individualistic, therefore since I am unusual, I think those would be considered unusual.

Is there anything about yourself you would like to share with us?
I often get compared to Abbey from NCIS, lol because I enjoy wearing my hair in pigtails. I also enjoying making things for my friends. I am as friendly as can be I am just very individualistic and considered morbid.

AMPPP Interview With RenG Photography

Photography Name: RenG Photography
Photographer: Renée Gschaid
Where You Reside: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Can you tell us a little about your photography style? The photography style that seems to call to me is mostly a mix of dark, Goth and Victorian — sometimes going a bit medieval and Renaissance. There is something simply beautiful about photos from a time when romance and courtship reigned supreme; it’s the hopeless romantic and old soul in me.

How long have you been in the field?
Over 5 years, hard to say since almost 5 years professional studio
experience but almost 7 years freelance experience. Had to count it a few times because doesn’t seem that long ago.

What got you started?  The passion really sparked in high school with my best friend when she got me into the media club and would take photos at all the school event with the perk of getting out of class sometimes. After, really go into taking photos of friends’ bands which was a tie in from photographing the annual ‘battle of the bands’ in high school.  This really got me into darker photo since the one band was in the genre of black metal. Then got hired on a portrait studio where began to explore more into traditional photography of film and digital.

What equipment do you use? I shoot with a Canon Rebel XT along with various lens and lighting.  It’s not the equipment you use but know how to use it matters more.

What is your favorite subject to capture? Being a Gothic girl, anything that is dark really takes my eye. My biggest obsession is making photos look old like the small collection of old family photos. So tend to work with models more than anything taking great pride in setting up sets, props and staging to make the picture complete.

What does beauty mean to you? Beauty is simply something that intrigues you. Beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and forms. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, but what people do with that beauty is amazing. Sometimes, what seems the most unattractive, through the right eyes, is the most stunning thing in the world.  It just takes someone to see it.

Do you have any tips, tricks, advice or wisdom you would be willing to share? Don’t be afraid to shoot in locations those others may deem as weird or odd; personally that’s the graveyard. You never know what lies deep inside were other fear to tread and sometimes the most amazing photos come for this secret obscure places.

Model Interview with Krystal Umi

Model Name: Krystal Umi
Age: 22
Where You Reside: Dorado, Puerto Rico

MODEL Q's
How Long have you been doing this?
My experience in modeling starts in December 2010, posing for a friend's camara, looking forward to being part of an alternative artistic project, but few months later I stopped modeling to fully dedicate to my studies. Then on july 2011 I became part of an Alternative talent Agency named Cyanide Nation Alternative Talent Agency where I successfully restarted my modeling career. Later that same year I completed my BA in Coastal Marine Biology and fully committed to alternative modeling.

What are your favorite styles to model?
Pin up is the most I like,  I also enjoy doing, gothic, Lolita and grunge.
What is your favorite feature about yourself?

My face and hair, I specially love my wavy, thick and colorful hair.

What are your goals as a model?

My goals are to be a successful alternative model in Puerto rico, to give all the young girls ad boys a role model to look up to. I want to change beauty standards in my little Island and to show how beautiful everyone can be with a little of self respect, love and attitude.

Do you have any tips, tricks, advice or wisdom you would be willing to share?
Always love what you do, and give your best even if you don’t like what you are doing. You never know when you’ll need to look back, but when you do you’ll have nothing to regret about, because you gave the best of you and that’s something to be proud of.

JUST ABOUT YOU:
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
My favorite hobbies are painting, drawing and writing. I also enjoy doing hair and make up, one of my goals is to become an Professional make up artist.

What is a day in the life of Krystal Umi Like?
I’m a simple and easy going person,  I wake up early to give some food and love  to my baby Choki ( my guinea pig). Do my face and bath protocol, as my mom calls it. Then do all the stuff I have to do, if I have shooting that day well I get prepared the day before so everything is ready. I’m a little obsessive with organization and preparation for everything, I have the “overachiever’s disease” and it make me a control freak at times. A day in my life is kind of boring sometimes but in the past years my daily routine have been changing constantly due to my studies and jobs.

What type of music do you listen to?
From Death Metal to Bjork and some Folkloric music from Puerto rico. I prefer music from the 80’ and 90’s I consider does decades to be my biggest influence in my style and taste for everything.

What are the 5 things you can’t live without?
Family, Pets, Friends, Inner peace and Freedom.

Is there anything about yourself you would like to share with us?

Photog Interview with ~ SnS-Photo (Jim Sorfleet)

Photography Name: SnS-Photo (Jim Sorfleet)
Where You Reside: Chicago, Illinois U.S.A.

How Long have you been in the field?
I have been doing alternative photography for about 4 years now. Before that, I did portrature and before that I was a production manager for a large food manufacturer.

What got you started?
I was photographing a model for promotion of my recently started photography business and  did a "Damsel in distress" set. The results were pretty cool. I began incorporating darker elements into my work and working with more alternative models. I found that I had a knack for this and the people I was lucky enough to work with were (and are) awesome folks.  One thing led to another and my work evolved into what it is today.

What equipment do you use?
I use primarily a Nikon D2x camera along with a variety of lighting.

What is your favorite subject to capture?
I really enjoy working with alternative models and capturing the darker side of life. But really anything that would make the viewer react is fun for me. The absurd, the dark, the sexy imagery is definitely my favorite. My pricing for shoots is very reasonable and most of my images are available as high quality prints at very reasonable prices.

Do you have any tips, tricks, advice or wisdom you would be willing to share?
Primarily I would say that respect for those you work with is totally important in this business. In the type of work I do, collaboration and communication are key and trust is very important. I totally appreciate the wonderful people I work with and like to believe that they feel the same about me.

Is there anything about yourself you would like to share with us?
I try to keep my personal life separate from my art although sometimes that is a bit difficult.  But, to sum "me" up, I am a husband, father, proud grandpa and an artist. I love what I do and consider myself lucky to be where I am right now.

How do you plan your photo shoots?

I don’t plan. I like to be creative on the spot I don’t like disappointment when a plan fails. I do know what is happening prier the shoot itself like the location, but ill go there and let my creativity flow. The way a work is comfortable I feel free to explore what I sense and not live by a plan.

Do you have any word of wisdom?

I don’t but a quote always follows me and inspires me "I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."
— Albert Einstein
